This sketch page shows you three different hairstyles and gives step-by-step visuals on achieving each look easily. With these different hairstyles, you can create the personality of your manga character. The hair can play a big part in making them appear shy, cute, confident, and more. Be patient and understand that drawing hair is slow process.
Step Two: Sketch the hairstyle
Nomatter what the model's hairstyle, there is usually an area of hair thatlies flat on the head and reveals the form. It is this area that is particularly important to pay attention to,otherwise the hair won't look believable, or the skull may lookstrangely shaped. Inside the construction frame from the previous step begin drawing in some of the more organic shapes and folds of the hair. You can erase the construction lines as you go through them.
Create the final hair lineart on a seperate layer
You can't simply draw all the hairs in the form of lines, because that's not what we see when we look at hair. What we see must be simplified to lines and shades, and there are many ways to do it. You should also create different bases for the same hair structure to improve even faster. See the examples below to see how I created the base and lineart for long wavy hair and short straight hair.
Step 11: Draw the sides
To decide which details areimportant to include and which I can simplify or leave out of mydrawing. I want my pencil marks to be considered, conscious decisions. Over top of the drawing of the head and hairline outline the main shape/shapes of the hair. Erase the parts of the head (including the hairline) that are hidden by the hair once you are done drawing it’s basic shape.

The main goal of this step is to apply an initial layer of shading that will define the light, medium and dark areas of the hair. Gradually add in the smaller folds and clumps of the hair to better define it’s shape. You can erase parts of the outline from the previous step where needed. Afterward, it is time to fill in the hair with more texture, so add long and short lines throughout the hairstyle. If you’re having difficulties drawing long hair because your pencil strokes are too short or choppy, try holding your pencil further away from the tip. This will give you more range of motion, producing longer, smoother strokes.

How to Draw Realistic Hair
Divide this hairstyle into several curly locks of hair by drawing the same bouncy line as before as many times as needed.
